Raheem Adams : Suspect Arrested in Car Shooting: 1 Dead, 1 Injured in PG County

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. – Authorities in Prince George’s County, Maryland, have apprehended a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred during a late-night gathering of car enthusiasts over the weekend.

The individual taken into custody has been identified as 22-year-old Raheem Adams, a resident of Stafford, Virginia.

According to the Prince George’s County Police Department, Adams allegedly shot and killed 26-year-old John Phipps of Waldorf at approximately 1:45 a.m. during a meet-up of car enthusiasts at a shopping center parking lot in the 6400 block of Marlboro Pike.

Phipps was discovered inside his vehicle and was subsequently pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Additionally, a second male individual sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the shooting. A woman was also reportedly injured during the incident, although specifics regarding her condition remain undisclosed by authorities.

Law enforcement officials have credited information provided by members of the public as pivotal in advancing their investigation.

Adams was located at his residence in Stafford County and was apprehended by officers on Wednesday morning.

He is currently being detained on charges encompassing first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree attempted murder, along with other related offences in the state of Virginia, pending his extradition to Prince George’s County.
