Orr, a resident of South Frontenac and a former student at Sydenham High School, was remembered as an avid student-athlete who participated in various sports during his youth. His untimely death has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him, with friends reminiscing about the fond memories they shared together.
Bearman and Côté, who also graduated from high schools in the Limestone School District, were described as beloved individuals by their close friends. Tributes poured in on social media, with heartfelt messages expressing the deep loss felt by those who knew them.
At the time of her tragic passing, Côté was working at a family-run interior design firm called Côté Co., where she shared a special bond with her mother, Alison. Her sudden departure has left a profound impact on her colleagues and loved ones.
Following the fatal crash, five other individuals aged 21 to 44 were rushed to a local hospital for treatment, with one person being airlifted for urgent medical care. The red speedboat involved in the collision, named ‘Y Wouldn’t Ya’, belonged to Kingston-based contractor Matt Splinter. Prior to the tragic event, Splinter had excitedly announced his plans to take the boat out for a ride, highlighting the carefree spirit of a day that ended in immense tragedy.
