Accident – Death – Obituary News : A man from Memphis, identified as Derrick Glenn, has been charged with exploiting a child, as announced by Macomb County officials on Wednesday. The 35-year-old suspect was arraigned on multiple charges, including child sexually abusive activity, accosting a child for immoral purposes, indecent exposure, and three counts of using a computer to commit a crime. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office revealed these details in a statement.

Glenn appeared in court at the 42-1 District Court in Romeo on Tuesday, where a judge set his bond at $50,000. The next court hearing for Glenn has been scheduled for June 4, according to court records. As of now, Glenn remains in custody at the Macomb County Jail. There was no attorney listed for Glenn at the time of the announcement.

If found guilty, Glenn could face severe penalties, including up to 20 years in prison for the child sexually abusive activity charge, four years for accosting a child, 28 years for using a computer to commit a crime, plus additional years for indecent exposure. Officials have stressed the gravity of the charges against Glenn.

The investigation into Glenn’s alleged crimes began when the Memphis police department sought assistance from the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office in a potential child exploitation case. Deputies, along with officers, arrived at an apartment on Henderson Street in Memphis over the weekend to arrest Glenn. The location of the apartment straddles the border of Macomb and St. Clair counties.

According to reports, Glenn was wanted for accosting a child for immoral purposes. Memphis police provided deputies with crucial evidence in the form of an email containing a video of the alleged incident. It was revealed that the investigation into Glenn was prompted by a tip from a social media group known as “Big County’s Predator Exposure.”

The group’s organizer, Sean Meadows, posed as an 11-year-old girl to communicate with Glenn over social media and text messages. During these interactions, Glenn allegedly sent Meadows graphic messages and images, leading to his arrest.

Authorities have requested the assistance of deputies in collecting evidence from Glenn’s residence, including a USB flash drive and a cellular phone. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officials are working diligently to ensure justice is served in this case.
