The scooterist shattered the car’s windows while a three-year-old and her parents were inside

In a recent road rage incident in Bengaluru, a scooterist attacked a car carrying a couple and their three-year-old daughter. The incident, captured by a CCTV camera, occurred after the two-wheeler failed to overtake the hatchback.
Akhil Sabu, an IT professional from Kerala, lodged a police complaint regarding the incident. He stated that the accused, identified as Jagadish, broke the car’s glass window, causing injury to the child. Police have taken action by arresting Jagadish, who is a local resident.

Mr Sabu had previously highlighted the incident on social media, specifying that it occurred on Sarjapur main road. CCTV footage shows the scooterist intercepting the Hyundai i10 carrying the family. Following a swerve by the car, the scooterist forcefully brought down his helmet on its window. Subsequently, as the car began moving again, the accused struck another window with the helmet. Mr Babu halted the car, exited, and engaged in physical confrontation with the scooterist, as depicted in the footage.
The altercation on Sarjapur road is the most recent in a series of road rage episodes reported in Bengaluru over the past few months. In the previous month, three individuals were apprehended after a woman shared a video of them tailing a car on a scooter, pounding on its windows, and attempting to open its doors.
Back in December last year, a viral video showcased a man on a two-wheeler halting a car and striking its window. Shortly after, he proceeded to grab a rock and smash the car’s windshield.
The escalating number of such incidents has led the city’s traffic police to disseminate guidelines on how to handle road rage situations safely.
