A tragic incident occurred in Pune when a speeding Porsche car driven by a 17-year-old minor struck and killed two engineers, Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa. The driver, the son of prominent real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The minor has been released on bail, but his father, Vishal Agarwal, has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Who is Vishal Agarwal?

1. Vishal Agarwal is the head of Brahma Corp, a construction company founded by the minor accused’s great-grandfather, Brahmadatt Agarwal, as reported by Business Today.

2. His name has been removed from the “Management” section on the company’s official website.

3. Apart from Brahma Corp, Vishal Agarwal also owns various other companies, according to ABP Live.

4. The 51-year-old purchased the luxury Porsche car for his minor son earlier this year.

FIR lodged against the builder

Following the accident, Pune Police filed an FIR against Vishal Agarwal for providing his minor son with a car despite knowing that he did not have a proper driver’s license. The car, purchased in March without a license plate, was allegedly driven by the minor under the influence of alcohol.

The arrest

Officials reported that Vishal Agarwal attempted to evade arrest by sending a car to Mumbai to mislead the police. After a 24-hour chase, he was finally apprehended in Sambhajinagar.

“The builder changed locations multiple times, moving from Kolhapur to Sambhajinagar, while also trying to mislead the police by sending another car towards Mumbai,” stated Pune Police commissioner Amitesh Kumar.

Charges against the builder

Vishal Agarwal faces charges under the Juvenile Justice Act for failing in his duties as a guardian and under the Motor Vehicles Act. He is set to appear in court today for his involvement in the tragic accident that claimed the lives of Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa, both young engineers.
