Two individuals arrested in connection with Hollywood Boulevard brawl involving actor Ian Ziering

Authorities have announced the arrest of two individuals in connection with a brawl on Hollywood Boulevard that involved actor Ian Ziering, best known for his role on “Beverly Hills 90210,” on New Year’s Eve last year. The altercation took place near Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue around 3 p.m. following a confrontation between Ziering and a member of a minibike gang regarding potential damage to the actor’s vehicle.

The chaotic incident was captured on cell phone cameras, with TMZ being the first to publish a video of the altercation involving the “Sharknado” actor. The footage shows Ziering engaging with a minibike gang member who was obstructing his vehicle, before several other bikers joined in the altercation, with one of them throwing a punch that appeared to strike the actor in the face.

According to a press release from the Los Angeles police, one of the minibike riders was seen brandishing an object at Ziering, narrowly missing him. Following the attack, the minibike riders reportedly damaged Ziering’s vehicle while his 10-year-old child was in the front seat.

Despite the violent encounter, neither Ziering nor his daughter sustained any injuries. In a separate video, Ziering is seen comforting his daughter on the street as the group eventually dispersed and left the scene.

On January 1, the 60-year-old actor took to social media to address the incident. “While I was stuck in traffic, my car was aggressively hit by one of these drivers, resulting in a disturbing confrontation,” Ziering posted on Instagram.

Describing the incident as “hooliganism,” Ziering called for “effective law enforcement” to address what he perceives as a broader issue. “We must tackle the underlying causes that lead to such disruptive behaviour and ensure our streets are safe for everyone. I urge city officials and law enforcement to take definitive action against this lawlessness and allocate the necessary resources to prevent future incidents,” Ziering stated.

Following an investigation, detectives from the LAPD’s Hollywood Division used video footage and witness statements to identify two suspects linked to the brawl. The suspects have been identified as 20-year-old Jacob Esteban Hernandez from Rosemead and 40-year-old Angie Teresa Guizar from Los Angeles.

Both suspects were apprehended around 6 a.m. on May 21 when LAPD Metro Division officers executed arrest warrants at their respective residences. Hernandez faces charges of felony vandalism, with bail set at $50,000, while Guizar is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, with bail set at $30,000.

Individuals with information about the incident are urged to contact LAPD Detective Douglas Hall at 213-927-2971. Those who wish to remain anonymous can report information to LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submit tips online at www.lacrimestoppers.org.
