Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Authorities have confirmed that the teenager who crashed his father’s Porsche into a motorbike, resulting in the immediate death of two individuals, was aware that his actions could lead to fatalities. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar stated that a robust case will be built against the teenager based on this premise.

The incident took place in Kalyani Nagar, Pune, where the 17-year-old, allegedly intoxicated, struck two software engineers riding a motorbike. The victims were identified as Aneesh Awadhiya, 24, and Ashwini Koshta, 25.

Kumar clarified that the police are pursuing a charge under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code, indicating that the teenager possessed the knowledge that his reckless driving could result in death. The other occupants of the Porsche are being considered as witnesses, and investigators are aiming to establish a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Unpaid registration fee for the Porsche

Furthermore, it was revealed that the Porsche’s permanent registration fee had been outstanding since March, amounting to ₹1,758. State transport officials disclosed that the vehicle had a temporary registration number from March to September 2024, but the owner failed to complete the registration process.

Maharashtra Transport Commissioner Vivek Bhimanwar explained that the car, imported by a dealer from Bengaluru, required the completion of registration at the Pune Regional Transport Office. However, the necessary fee remained unpaid, leading to the pending registration.

Restaurants sealed for serving liquor to underage individual

The Maharashtra excise department took action against two restaurants, Cosie and Hotel Blak Club, where the teenager and his friends reportedly consumed alcohol. The establishments were sealed by orders from the Pune district collectorate.

Authorities specified that the juvenile and his companions visited the restaurants between 9.30 pm and 1 am, violating legal guidelines on underage drinking. The excise department initiated an inspection drive to ensure compliance with liquor serving regulations and warned of severe consequences for establishments found breaching the law.

As the investigation unfolds, the teenager will not be granted a driving license until he reaches the age of 25, as confirmed by Bhimanwar.
