Danielle Hines : “Woman, Daughter Killed in Sleepover Shooting – WFTV”

YANCEYVILLE, N.C. — A tragic incident unfolded in North Carolina as a mother and her daughter were fatally shot at a sleepover, while two juveniles sustained injuries in the shooting on Saturday, according to authorities.

The victims have been identified as Danielle Hines, 37, of Reidsville, who was a correctional officer at the Caswell County Correctional Center, and her daughter. The names and ages of the victims have not been released.

Reports from WXII-TV indicate that the mother and daughter were pronounced dead at the scene, while the two injured juveniles were taken to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, their injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.

The juvenile who lost their life was a student at Bartlett Yancey Senior High School in Yanceyville. The other injured individuals included the victim’s 17-year-old brother and a fifth grader from Stoney Creek Elementary in Reidsville, as confirmed by Caswell County Schools interim Superintendent Douglas N. Barker.

According to the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office, approximately 10 individuals were present in the residence at the time of the shooting. The motive behind the tragic incident remains unclear.

The suspect in the shooting, identified as Anthony Lamont Siler, 36, reportedly took his own life during a traffic stop initiated by the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, following the incident.

An ongoing investigation is being conducted to uncover more details surrounding the shooting. The North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections confirmed that Hines had been serving as a correctional officer in Caswell County since December 2020.
