WASILLA, Alaska (KTUU) – A devastating incident unfolded on Monday afternoon on the Parks Highway, resulting in the loss of a young man’s life. An Anchorage resident, Tyler Anderson, tragically passed away when the pickup truck he was a passenger in rolled into a ditch near Trunk Road.
The Alaska State Troopers received a distressing call at 4:01 p.m. reporting a rollover collision. Upon reaching the scene, responders found a Chevrolet pickup truck overturned in the median. While the driver managed to escape the vehicle, Tyler Anderson was trapped inside and had to be extricated by rescue teams.
Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to a local hospital in Mat-Su, Anderson, aged 26, succumbed to his injuries. The community mourns the loss of a young life and extends condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
Following the tragic accident, authorities worked tirelessly to clear the area of debris and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The Parks Highway was reopened to traffic after approximately three hours of closure, allowing normalcy to return to the area.
