Accident – Death – Obituary News : A 13-year-old male has been apprehended in relation to the tragic incident that resulted in the death of two 15-year-old boys in Milwaukee, as confirmed by the local authorities. The Milwaukee police force is currently on the lookout for two more suspects believed to be involved in the shooting.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office has not yet pressed any charges in connection to the shooting, which occurred on Saturday night at around 10:30 p.m. on the 1400 block of West Halsey Avenue. The victims, identified as Alejandro Sanchez and Monroe Weso, were memorialized by their families on GoFundMe pages set up to assist with funeral expenses.

Alejandro Sanchez was described as a vibrant individual by his sister, Dalilah Sanchez, who stated that he was always eager to help others and had a passion for creativity. On the other hand, Monroe Weso’s aunt, Cheyenne Grignon, highlighted his strong ties to the Menominee Reservation, where he will be laid to rest.

The city of Milwaukee has experienced a surge in gun-related incidents involving young individuals since 2020, with gun violence becoming the primary cause of death for children in the United States that year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The number of children injured or killed in shootings in Milwaukee has doubled in the years following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the alarming trend, there has been a slight decrease in gun violence in Milwaukee in 2024 compared to the previous year, with fewer child homicides and nonfatal shootings recorded. Local officials attribute this decline to the reintroduction of in-person youth programs, social services, and the distribution of federal aid aimed at preventing violence.
