Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Authorities have confirmed that the skeletal remains discovered in Easton earlier this month belong to Matthew Yeomans, a young man who went missing from the town in 2021. The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office made the identification after a homeowner found what appeared to be a human skull in a brook on his property.

Yeomans, who was 25 at the time of his disappearance, was reported missing on September 21, 2021, by his grandfather. The grandfather informed investigators that he had not seen Matthew since September 19, 2021. Yeomans was known to have a medical condition and was struggling with mental health issues at the time.

When Yeomans was reported missing, police found his wallet, identification cards, and cell phone inside his residence. Despite conducting a search around the home, authorities were unable to locate him, leading to a public appeal for information.

On May 1, 2024, the discovery of the human skull prompted Massachusetts State Police, the Easton Police Department, and the Massachusetts State Police Detectives Unit to conduct a thorough search of the area. Additional human remains were found, and subsequent medical examinations confirmed that they belonged to Yeomans.

The cause of Yeomans’ death is yet to be determined, and authorities have assured the public that there is no immediate threat. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is ongoing.
