Authorities in Garvin County, Oklahoma are still on the lookout for a suspect who allegedly fired shots at a deputy during a high-speed chase that took place on Monday. The incident unfolded when the Garvin County Sheriff’s Office was alerted that police from Paoli and Maysville were in pursuit of a gold SUV travelling east on Highway 19 towards Pauls Valley. Garvin County deputies quickly joined the chase as it moved west of Interstate 35 and Highway 19.

The suspect, reportedly driving at speeds of 85-90 mph, led officers through a series of back roads before eventually crashing at an intersection near the Foster area in Garvin County. Following the crash, the suspect fled on foot into a nearby wooded area. During the pursuit, the suspect allegedly fired shots at a deputy, leading to the discovery of several shell casings inside the suspect’s vehicle.

Law enforcement officials established a perimeter to search for the suspect, but their efforts proved unsuccessful in locating him. The U.S. Marshal’s Service has been brought in to assist the Garvin County Sheriff’s Office in the ongoing search for the suspect. The individual in question has been identified as Trace Lynn Prosise, who has an active warrant from Comanche County for assaulting a correctional officer. Despite this information, authorities have not released a photograph or detailed description of Prosise.
