Fort Pierce Police are currently investigating three shootings that occurred over the weekend to determine if they are connected. The shootings resulted in three fatalities, including a suspect who was shot by police. The victims have been identified as 59-year-old Roosevelt Benjamin, a postal worker, and 24-year-old Devin Bradley, who worked for the city. Another victim, 50-year-old Craig Robinson, remains in critical condition in Southern Palm Beach County. Additionally, a 69-year-old woman has been charged with shooting her son-in-law in Delray Beach on Sunday night. The son-in-law is expected to survive, but the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.

In other news, nearly $1 million of federal funding has been allocated to replace Lantana’s aging water pipes. The town is currently in phase one of capping the old water pipes, which were originally installed in 1962. Officials have highlighted the presence of asbestos around some of the old pipes, raising concerns about potential contamination of Lantana’s water supply. The entire project is expected to take 8 to 10 years and cost $51 million if there are repeat main breaks.
