Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Virginia: A teenage rapper tragically lost his life while recording a video on social media when he inadvertently shot himself in the head. The 17-year-old rapper was discovered deceased in Suffolk, Virginia on May 15, with the police confirming that the cause of death was an \”accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound\” to the head.

The authorities have chosen not to reveal the identity of the deceased teenager, but he has been identified in separate online footage as the Suffolk-based rapper Rylo Huncho. The distressing video shows the teen singing into a camera while handling a gun equipped with a green laser sight. Tragically, the boy switched off the weapon’s safety and pointed it at his head, resulting in a fatal gunshot and causing him to collapse.

Following the incident, a GoFundMe campaign was initiated to support Huncho’s grieving mother. A relative of the rapper shared, \”He was her only son! She was a single parent who did her best to care for her son.\” The campaign aims to raise $15,000 and has already garnered over $2,800 in donations, with contributions coming in from compassionate individuals.

The teenager’s full name has been identified as Raleigh Freeman III in other media reports. A close friend, referring to the boy as Railey, confirmed his passing on Facebook, urging others to show respect and empathy towards the grieving mother.

Huncho’s social media presence, particularly on Instagram and TikTok, showcased his rap performances featuring explicit lyrics and drug use. This tragic incident has sparked discussions on gun culture, particularly concerning its impact on young individuals in the United States, where access to firearms remains a contentious issue.

A recent report by the Pew Research Institute highlighted a concerning trend, indicating a 50 per cent increase in the number of children and teens killed by gunfire between 2019 and 2021. The rate of gun-related deaths among minors rose from 2.4 fatalities per 100,000 young residents in 2019 to 3.5 per 100,000 in 2021, marking a significant escalation in gun violence among the youth.

Homicide emerged as the leading cause of gun-related deaths among children and teenagers in 2021, constituting 60 per cent of the total fatalities that year. The alarming statistics underscore the urgent need for addressing and mitigating the pervasive influence of gun culture on the younger generation.
