Officials disclosed that Bhati has a criminal record, having been involved in five cases of a serious nature and a case under the Uttar Pradesh Gunda Act. He was previously expelled from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh on April 23.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest) Rohit Meena stated that on May 18, specific intelligence was received regarding the suspect’s presence in the market of Sector 1, R.K. Puram.

Bhati confessed that following an attack on his family members by his uncle and others, a criminal case was filed against them. Seeking retribution, he and his associates launched an assault on his maternal uncle Vikram Mavi on May 11, using knives, rods, swords, and a pistol. Mavi sustained over 50 injuries in the attack, during which 7-8 rounds were also fired from the illegal weapon before the perpetrators fled the scene.

“To date, 11 individuals have been arrested in connection with this murder. Bhati revealed that one of his associates, Prasant a.k.a Muttu, procured the weapon used in the crime. Further investigation revealed that Prasant had already been apprehended in relation to the aforementioned murder and is currently in judicial custody,” the DCP elaborated.
