Accident – Death – Obituary News : Allegheny County Police have reported that a man allegedly used a Bible study session to exploit a seven-year-old girl. The suspect, 21-year-old Michael McFarland, is now facing charges of sexual child abuse in relation to the young victim. According to investigators, McFarland is being described as a sexual predator, and the incident took place during a Bible study at a private residence in South Park, where the church congregation gathers.
The disturbing details of the case reveal that McFarland instructed the young girl to take inappropriate photos of herself using his cellphone. The victim bravely disclosed during her interview with the police how McFarland had provided her with the device, asked her to capture partially nude images of herself in the restroom, and then return the phone to him. Upon searching McFarland’s home, investigators discovered more troubling photographs of other girls, including the seven-year-old victim. The photos depicted eleven images of seven different juvenile females in various stages of undress.
Authorities are now investigating McFarland’s relationship with these other girls, as the case began within the church community where trust was placed in him due to his role in the Bible study. McFarland is currently awaiting his preliminary hearing as more charges are anticipated, especially since additional girls were found on his phone in Green Tree.
In a recent development, Allegheny County Police have arrested McFarland for allegedly having a child take an inappropriate photo of herself. Following a report received on March 11, the police conducted interviews and determined that McFarland had instructed the juvenile to take the photo during a Bible study session at a residence in South Park Township. The victim identified McFarland as a member of Providence Reformed Church.
McFarland, a resident of North Huntingdon, now faces charges that include unlawful contact with a minor, criminal solicitation, and sexual abuse of children. During the investigation, police discovered eleven photos of seven girls in various stages of undress on McFarland’s phone.
