Accident – Death – Obituary News :

On Saturday night, a tragic incident unfolded in Uttam Nagar, west Delhi, where a 26-year-old man named Karan Kumar was reportedly fatally assaulted by a family on suspicion of theft. The brutal attack has shocked the local community, with three individuals, including a 17-year-old boy, now in police custody in connection with the crime.

Karan Kumar, a resident of Shiv Vihar, had a troubled past with a criminal record that included 10 theft cases. Allegations from the victim’s family suggest that he was bound, beaten mercilessly, and subjected to heinous acts of cruelty, such as having a bike run over his genitals and salt applied to his wounds. Initial investigations point towards a family involved in illicit liquor trade in the locality as the perpetrators of this fatal assault.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), Ankit Singh, confirmed Karan’s identity and criminal history, revealing that the victim was currently unemployed after working as a laborer. Following the incident, a 27-year-old woman named Maina Devi, a 30-year-old man named Rohit Kumar, and a minor boy were apprehended in connection with the case.

The police were alerted to the assault around 8:30 pm and rushed Karan to Safdarjung Hospital, where he was tragically declared dead upon arrival. Disturbing videos of the assault have surfaced on social media, showing Devi accusing Karan of theft and implicating her husband and others in the attack. It has been disclosed that the family harbored suspicions about Karan’s involvement in a theft incident last December, leading to the violent confrontation upon his return to the area.

According to Karan’s mother, Shakuntala Devi, the accused family subjected her son to brutal beatings with various objects, causing severe injuries. Despite her frantic calls to the police, she claims that their response was delayed, adding to the tragedy of the situation. Local residents have highlighted the violent history of the accused family, with one individual noting that while Karan had criminal ties, the family was also linked to illegal liquor activities.

DCP Singh confirmed that a case has been registered under sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, with multiple police teams mobilized to track down the remaining suspects involved in this horrific incident.
