Authorities in Medford are currently investigating a tragic motorcycle crash that occurred on Friday, May 17th, 2024, at 10:51 p.m. The incident took place in the 2700 block of Delta Waters Rd. and resulted in the death of a 39-year-old man identified as Benjamin McFarland.

According to reports from Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon (ECSO), a 911 call was received alerting them to the crash. Upon arrival at the scene, Medford Police Officers found two motorcycles involved in the collision. One of the drivers was unconscious and unfortunately could not be revived, while the other sustained minor injuries.

Members of the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team from the Medford Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene to investigate the cause of the crash. Initial assessments suggest that speed may have been a contributing factor.
