An unidentified assailant shot and fatally wounded a 41-year-old man and injured two others near the Nambul river bank at Naorem-thong Khumanthem Takyel Kongbal, under the jurisdiction of Lamphel police station in Imphal West. The tragic incident took place at approximately 7:30 p.m. last night.
The deceased victim has been identified as Shree Ram Hangsada, a native of Jharkhand. The two individuals who sustained injuries in the attack are Bittu Murmu, aged 22, and Mitalal Soran, aged 50, both also from Jharkhand. Currently, they are undergoing medical treatment at RIMS Hospital. Murmu is the son of Sirlal Murmu from Dokaban Village, while Soran is the son of Dorbori Soran from Mukun Village.
All three victims were employed as labourers with Keystone Infra Pvt. Company. Upon receiving reports of the incident, security forces swiftly responded to the scene to provide assistance and secure the area.
