Daymian Martiez Hughes : “Salt Lake City Police Arrest Suspect in Domestic Violence”

Upon receiving a distress call regarding a potential domestic altercation involving a woman in the vicinity of 1500 E. Laird Avenue around 9:38 a.m., the Salt Lake City Police Department swiftly responded to the scene.

During their investigation, law enforcement officers deemed the woman to be at immediate risk and in need of assistance.

It was uncovered that the suspect, identified as Daymian Martiez Hughes, had confiscated the woman’s phone and car keys, preventing her from leaving the premises.

Upon arrival, the area was secured by officers, who initiated negotiations with Hughes. Despite their efforts, Hughes initially refused to cooperate, holding the woman against her will.

After persistent negotiations, the woman was eventually released by Hughes, who subsequently surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident.

During her debrief with the police, the woman expressed genuine concern for her safety in the presence of Hughes.

Hughes has since been detained at the Salt Lake County Jail under investigation for charges including kidnapping, tampering with communication devices, and obstructing a peace officer.
