Alder Perez Argueta : “Two Men Charged in Culmore Shooting”

Fairfax County Police have apprehended two individuals in relation to the tragic murder of a man in the Culmore area of Bailey’s Crossroads.

The victim, identified as Alder Perez Argueta, aged 21 and a resident of Bailey’s Crossroads, was discovered by law enforcement with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital.

The fatal incident occurred around 2 a.m. on May 17 at the Olde Salem Village apartments situated in the 6000 block of Argyle Drive.

Angel Romero Perez, aged 20 and also from Bailey’s Crossroads, has been formally charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Candido Perez Argueta, aged 25 and hailing from Bailey’s Crossroads, faces charges of robbery resulting in death and participation in gang activities. Both suspects are currently detained at the Adult Detention Center without the option of bail.

It has been ascertained that the three individuals were acquainted with each other. Investigators believe that the victim, Alder Perez Argueta, was accompanying Candido Perez Argueta and Angel Romero Perez during an attempted robbery that ultimately led to the fatal shooting.

Law enforcement officials have expressed that this appears to be an isolated incident. They are actively pursuing leads and conducting further inquiries to unravel the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting.
