The man, identified as Clifton Williams, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault at around 2:20 p.m. local time on Friday, May 17, in Midtown Manhattan following an investigation into the incident that occurred on May 8.

According to the New York Police Department, the victim, Steve Buscemi, was in the Kips Bay neighborhood around 11:50 a.m. when he was struck by an unidentified individual. He was then taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment of a minor injury to his left eye and is reported to be in stable condition.

Buscemi, known for his roles in films such as “Fargo” and “Reservoir Dogs,” was treated for bruising, swelling, and bleeding to his left eye. His publicist later confirmed that he was “assaulted in midtown Manhattan” and expressed gratitude for the support from fans.

Williams was also involved in another incident, where he allegedly punched a 22-year-old man before the attack on Buscemi. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has stated that the suspect is yet to be arraigned for these charges.

Buscemi’s co-star from “Boardwalk Empire,” Michael Stuhlbarg, was also a victim of an attack in New York City weeks before the incident involving Buscemi.
