An Evansville man, identified as Timothy Stull II, was taken into custody by Henderson police after he was found slumped over the steering wheel of his white Toyota Camry while picking up his child from daycare. The incident took place in the 300 block of Mary in Henderson, Kentucky.
Officers responded to a call regarding a man slumped over the wheel with a child in the backseat. Upon arrival, they discovered Stull in a dazed and confused state. He was ordered out of the vehicle and arrested after a clear bag containing a white rock-like substance, later confirmed to be meth, was found in his hand. Additionally, Stull had visible burnt sores on his lip, indicating recent drug use.
Further inspection of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia, including a glass smoking pipe in the center console, a paper with a white substance near the gear shifter, and another clear bag of meth inside a cigarette pack in the cup holder. Shockingly, all these items were within reach of the child in the backseat when Stull passed out.
Stull claimed ownership of the child and the vehicle, stating that he had just picked up the child from daycare. However, the mother of the child was called to take custody of the child, while Stull was transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail.
According to the affidavit, Stull admitted to a recent relapse after being clean for four years. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of drug addiction on individuals and their families.
