Crime news: A tragic incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad on Friday (May 17) as a man, identified as Shyam Goswami, allegedly strangled his wife, Priya, to death over suspicions of adultery. The shocking turn of events saw Goswami staying beside his wife’s lifeless body for hours and even sending pictures of the crime scene to relatives before taking his own life by hanging himself. The couple resided in the Shankar Vihar colony of Ankur Vihar Loni.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (rural) Vivek Chandra Yadav revealed, “He clicked several pictures and sent them to his relatives. Around 1 pm, he hanged himself.” Goswami’s younger brother, Praveen, discovered the tragic scene after receiving the distressing photos on WhatsApp.
The couple’s six-year-old daughter currently resides with her grandparents in Etah district. Goswami was involved in selling car accessories, while Priya was employed at a private company.
“Prima facie, it appears that Goswami suspected his wife of adultery. The bodies have been sent for postmortem, and the case is currently under investigation,” stated the DCP.
The authorities are actively pursuing further leads and conducting a thorough investigation into the matter to ascertain all relevant details.
