A potential breakthrough has emerged in the murder case of 19-year-old Sade Robinson following the discovery of a human arm washed ashore at Waukegan Municipal Beach in Illinois. The Lake County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that the arm, which was found over the weekend, is a “mostly intact” right arm, believed to be from a female. Robinson’s family revealed that authorities contacted them about the arm on Mother’s Day.
Investigation and Identification Process
Upon the disturbing discovery, a deputy police chief in Waukegan stated that there were no local cases to which the arm could be linked. Given the history of bodies washing ashore from Milwaukee and Chicago in the past, law enforcement officials expanded their search to include cases from other areas along the lakeshore. While Robinson’s case was considered, the arm has not yet been positively identified as hers.
A forensic anthropologist is expected to confirm the gender and age range of the victim, and DNA samples will be submitted by the Lake County coroner to aid in the identification process. If the arm is successfully identified, it will be transported to the location where the victim’s investigation is taking place. However, if no match is found, Waukegan police will need to determine the next steps in their investigation.
Collaboration and Waiting for DNA Results
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office is collaborating with law enforcement in Lake County and is eagerly awaiting the DNA results from the arm. Milwaukee County prosecutors have disclosed that Robinson went missing after her date with 33-year-old Maxwell Anderson on April 1. Anderson has since been charged with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson of property.
Robinson’s leg was initially found on the shore at Cudahy’s Warnimont Park on April 2, and investigators have subsequently discovered other body parts belonging to Robinson throughout Milwaukee County.
