According to reports, a Speedway worker called the police after the man and a female companion were found passed out or asleep at a table inside the store. The man initially provided false identification to the police, claiming that he and the woman, who he identified as his girlfriend, had been drinking at a nearby restaurant and were waiting for a ride home.

The female companion, a 46-year-old resident of Eastlake, was reportedly incoherent and unable to sit up. A half-empty bottle of liquor was found on the table in front of her. Although paramedics arrived at the scene, the woman declined treatment and was eventually picked up by her father.

Upon further investigation, the police discovered the man’s true identity and recognised him from previous encounters. He was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the North Royalton jail.

In a separate incident on Barrett Road, a 17-year-old girl from Cleveland was arrested at around 2 a.m. on May 12 for obstructing official business, violating curfew, and resisting police. The girl was apprehended after police observed her riding on the back of a motorised bicycle past curfew hours.

Police spotted the bicycle travelling southbound on North Rocky River Drive near Bagley Road with its headlight turned off. The driver of the bike ran a red light and made a turn onto westbound West Bagley Road without signalling.

Despite repeated instructions from the police to stop, the driver continued to evade them by turning onto northbound Barrett without signalling. After activating their overhead lights, the police managed to pull alongside the bike as it turned into the parking lot of Tower in the Park at 55 Barrett.

The driver, a 19-year-old resident of Berea, apologised for not having his headlight turned on. However, the police suspected that the girl accompanying him appeared to be underage. When asked for her name and age, the girl remained unresponsive, prompting the driver to falsely claim that she was 18.

As the girl attempted to walk away, the police intervened and detained her. Despite multiple requests to identify herself, the girl refused to comply and was ultimately placed in handcuffs. She continued to resist arrest, even kicking one of the officers in the process.

During the incident, the driver of the bicycle was in possession of the girl’s cell phone. The police instructed him to contact her parents, leading to her father arriving at the scene to identify his daughter.

Following the intervention of her father, the girl was released into his custody. However, she responded by directing profanities towards the police officers, exemplifying her lack of cooperation throughout the ordeal.
