Police in Cobb County have recently reunited a stolen necklace with its rightful owners, a 4-year-old girl and her family.

The incident occurred in mid-April when the suspect, identified as Jose Daniel Noyola, targeted the young child who was out shopping with her mother. Surveillance footage released by Cobb County police shows Noyola approaching the girl and forcefully taking the gold chain and pendant she was wearing around her neck.

Fortunately, the girl was physically unharmed during the incident, but her mother reported that she was deeply affected by the theft, crying for weeks over the loss of the sentimental piece of jewellery.

The stolen necklace was described as a 14-karat gold chain with a pendant of the Virgin Mary. Noyola was apprehended after attempting to sell the necklace at a pawn shop for $250, almost a month after the theft occurred.

During police questioning, Noyola confessed to the theft, leading to further investigation that eventually led detectives to recover the stolen necklace and return it to the young girl and her family.

Noyola now faces charges of robbery and first-degree cruelty to children and is currently being held in the Cobb County Jail without bail.
