MONTGOMERY COUNTY—Authorities in Montgomery County are currently conducting an investigation into a suspect believed to be involved in a road rage incident that occurred recently.

Shortly before 8pm on May 11, Montgomery County Dispatch received a distress call regarding a shooting incident and a vehicle pursuit near Coffeyville, Kansas, as confirmed by Sheriff Ron Wade.

In response to the emergency call, law enforcement agencies collaborated to ensure the safety of the public and resolve the situation swiftly. The incident unfolded on U.S 166 and County Road 3500 just outside of Coffeyville, Kansas, prompting immediate action from dispatch and deputies. Crucial information, such as a detailed description of the suspect vehicle heading towards Caney, Kansas, was quickly relayed.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office made contact with the reporting individual, identified as Christopher Flack from Skiatook, Oklahoma. Flack informed deputies that he had been chased by a black Dodge Challenger originating from Caney, Kansas.

Despite gunshots being fired at Flack’s vehicle during the pursuit, fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to Sheriff Wade.

Following a thorough investigation, deputies located the suspect vehicle at the residence of 54-year-old Shawn Timmerman in Caney, Kansas. Timmerman was subsequently apprehended without any further incident. He is currently being held in custody on charges of attempted second-degree murder as requested by law enforcement authorities.
