Accident – Death – Obituary News :

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — The body discovered in the Pawtuxet River earlier this week has been identified as that of Dante Williams, a 28-year-old man from Providence who had been missing for a month.

The discovery was made on Tuesday evening by a kayaker near the Mill Street railroad bridge in Cranston, according to local police.

Authorities have stated that there is currently no suspicion of foul play in Williams’ death. An autopsy conducted by the state medical examiner’s office did not show any signs of injury or trauma, leaving the manner and cause of his death undetermined.

Williams was reported missing on April 15 after being involved in a crash on I-95 North in Warwick the day before. Reports indicate that he fled towards the river before emergency services arrived at the scene. It was also noted that Williams did not possess a valid driving license at the time of the accident.

In a press release, the police expressed their condolences to Williams’ family and friends during this challenging time. “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr. Williams during this profoundly difficult time,” the statement read. “We extend our heartfelt sympathies for their loss.”
