Accident – Death – Obituary News :

In a heartbreaking incident in Alpharetta, Georgia, three teenagers lost their lives in a car crash on Tuesday evening. The victims have been identified as Anvi Sharma and Sriya Avasarala, both 18-year-old freshmen at the University of Georgia, and Aryan Joshi, an 18-year-old senior at Alpharetta High School. Two additional individuals involved in the accident are currently hospitalized.

The tragic crash occurred on Westside Parkway near Maxwell Road to Hembree Road around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, claiming the lives of Sharma, Avasarala, and Joshi. Initially, two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, later identified as Joshi and Avasarala by the Medical Examiner’s office.

Avasarala, a freshman at the University of Georgia pursuing pre-medical studies, was known for her involvement in the university’s dance team. On the other hand, Joshi was a senior at Alpharetta High School, marking the end of his high school journey tragically.

In a devastating turn of events, Anvi Sharma, also an 18-year-old freshman at UGA, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital the following day. Initially thought to be the driver, it was later clarified by Alpharetta Police that Sharma was a passenger in the rear of the vehicle.

The two individuals currently hospitalized as a result of the crash have been identified as Rithwak Somepalli, a University of Georgia student believed to be the driver, and Mohammad Liyakath, a senior at Alpharetta High School.

According to authorities, speed is suspected to have played a significant role in the tragic accident, with Somepalli allegedly losing control of the vehicle, causing it to flip and land upside-down in the tree line. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and it remains unclear if any charges will be filed against Somepalli.

In response to the devastating loss, school counselors were made available at Alpharetta High School to support students and staff coping with the tragedy. The school issued a statement to parents acknowledging the varied emotional responses that may arise in the wake of such a traumatic event.

As investigators continue to piece together the details of the crash, the community mourns the loss of these young lives and grapples with the aftermath of the tragedy.
