Accident – Death – Obituary News :
Authorities in Las Vegas have arrested Kyle Banks, a 38-year-old man from the city, on charges of child abuse, DUI, and battery domestic violence. The arrest comes after Banks allegedly pushed his girlfriend out of a moving vehicle and later crashed into a parked Metro patrol vehicle while under the influence and with two children in the backseat.
Incident Details
The incident occurred on May 13 around 11:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Petal Avenue and Twilight Street near Flamingo Road and Boulder Highway. Metro police responded to a report of a possible domestic disturbance, where the caller, who was in distress, informed authorities that she had been pushed out of a moving vehicle by her boyfriend, identified as Kyle Banks.
Witnesses at the scene recounted seeing a Ford Expedition driving erratically, with Banks allegedly kicking the woman out of the driver’s side door. The victim, in a state of distress, cried out for help, expressing concern for her children before lying down on the sidewalk.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, along with her 7-year-old daughter, partially in the road. She was subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Further Details Emerged
An individual who was present in the vehicle at the time of the incident revealed that they were in the backseat with two infant brothers while the victim was driving and Banks was in the passenger seat. An argument ensued between the couple, during which Banks threatened physical harm and exhibited aggressive behavior.
The victim disclosed to police that Banks had a history of becoming violent when intoxicated and had forcefully taken control of the vehicle during the altercation. This resulted in the victim being pushed out of the moving vehicle onto the road, sustaining injuries in the process.
Subsequently, Banks took over the driver’s seat and drove off with the two children still in the backseat, leaving the victim behind.
Arrest and Investigation
As officers conducted their investigation at the scene, Banks, now behind the wheel, approached a parked Metro patrol vehicle at an intersection. Despite commands to stop, Banks failed to comply and collided with the patrol car, leading to his arrest.
Law enforcement officers noted several signs of impairment in Banks, including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and the smell of alcohol emanating from him. A half-empty bottle of Seagrams gin was found in the back seat of the vehicle, directly behind the driver’s seat.
Upon taking Banks into custody, officers discovered that the two children were still secured in their car seats in the back of the vehicle.
Legal Proceedings
Kyle Banks is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday to face the charges brought against him. The incident has underscored the seriousness of the allegations and the potential consequences of reckless and dangerous behaviour.
