The Shrewsbury Police Department has reported two separate incidents involving threats with firearms on May 14, resulting in the arrest of two men.

First Incident

At approximately 10:29 a.m., authorities received a call regarding a man who had brandished a firearm during a dispute with a co-worker at 19 Boston Turnpike in Shrewsbury.

The suspect quickly fled the scene, prompting a Be-On-The-Lookout alert to be issued across the area.

After a swift response, Auburn Police located the suspect’s vehicle and apprehended the individual, identified as 25-year-old Bradley Hyde from Worcester, at 2:29 p.m. Hyde was subsequently charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Second Incident

Less than an hour later, around 11:24 a.m., Sergeant Abbascia, who was on duty at White City Shopping Plaza, was informed by a motorist about a road rage incident involving a male who had pointed a firearm at him.

Sgt. Abbascia immediately broadcasted the suspect’s vehicle description, leading Officer Brandon Bourette to spot the vehicle on Boston Turnpike (Rt.9) heading eastbound.

Following a traffic stop near Cherry Street, a black 9mm Smith and Wesson Shield-style firearm was discovered within the driver’s reach.

The driver, identified as Michael Wright, a 46-year-old resident of Lunenburg, was taken into custody and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Investigation Ongoing

The Shrewsbury Police Department’s Detective Bureau is actively involved in the investigation of both incidents, working diligently to gather additional information and evidence.
