TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – Tyler authorities have confirmed that the human remains discovered on May 5 belong to Jose Alejandro “Alex” Perez, a resident of Tyler who had been reported missing since April 26.
The Tyler Police Department received confirmation from the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas regarding the identification of Perez. The remains were found by the Smith County Sheriff’s Office on May 5, 2024. The cause of death has not been disclosed by the authorities.
The Tyler Police Department is collaborating closely with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office as they continue their investigation into this tragic incident.
