Accident – Death – Obituary News : Capitol Police Launch Investigation After Cocaine Found Near U.S. Capitol

The Capitol Police are currently conducting an investigation after a one-inch ziplock bag containing cocaine was discovered in a heavily trafficked area just a few blocks away from the U.S. Capitol building. The illicit drug was found on the second floor of the U.S. Capitol Police headquarters on Wednesday, shortly before 1:00 p.m. ET.

This incident comes on the heels of a previous scandal involving the Biden administration, where a bag of white powder that tested positive for cocaine was found in a cubby hole at the White House. The discovery of the cocaine near the Capitol has raised concerns about security and potential risks in such high-profile government buildings.

According to a statement released by the USCP, the zip lock bag contained a small amount of a white powdery substance that field-tested positive for cocaine. The area where it was found is described as a heavily trafficked space used by various contractors and employees, including offices such as Prisoner Processing, Crime Scene, Intel, and Reports Processing.

After the discovery, the residue was field-tested and confirmed to be cocaine. The USCP’s Investigations Division has initiated an investigation, which will include further testing, including DNA testing of the baggie. More information will be provided as the investigation progresses.

This incident is not the first time that cocaine has been found in a government building. Over the summer, cocaine was discovered in a phone locker in President Joe Biden’s White House. The Secret Service closed the investigation in less than two weeks due to a lack of evidence, despite narrowing down the list of suspects to 500 individuals.

Lockers in the White House are not assigned to specific personnel but are used by outside visitors to the West Wing. The likeliest suspect in the White House incident was speculated to be someone taking a tour, given the easy access to a nearby bathroom where the contraband could have been disposed of.

Documents obtained by DailyMail.com shed light on the investigation process, including the involvement of the Deputy Director of the FBI, Paul Abbate. The incident clouded the Biden administration in scandal over the summer, as it raised questions about security protocols and potential vulnerabilities in high-security government buildings.

The discovery of cocaine near the U.S. Capitol has once again highlighted the need for heightened security measures and vigilance in protecting these critical government facilities. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities working diligently to uncover the source of the illicit substance and ensure the safety and security of the Capitol complex..
