The New York State’s Office of Mental Health released a statement expressing their concern for the injured staff members and their families. The agency is cooperating with the Buffalo Police Department’s investigation into the matter to ensure the safety of both staff and patients at the facility.

During a press conference later in the day, Buffalo police disclosed that the assailant used a knife in the attack. The incident took place in an area of the complex that lacked proper security screening measures.

The victims, aged 45, 55, and 52, were swiftly transported to ECMC for treatment. Fortunately, a source at the medical centre confirmed that all three individuals are in stable condition.

Haskins has been formally charged with three counts of assault and a single count of criminal possession of a weapon. He appeared in court for arraignment later on the same day.

Notably, Haskins has a prior criminal record involving stabbings. News 4 discovered that he was previously linked to a stabbing incident at the Fountain Plaza Train Station in downtown Buffalo back in 2013, where he allegedly attacked another man. Haskins faced charges of attempted murder in that case.
