Initial reports from Channel 2 Action News revealed that Nease’s boyfriend contacted her father on August 16, 2018, stating that she had left his house at 3 a.m. a week prior.

“When he called me six days after she went missing, I had a bad feeling at that time,” said Landol Mitchell, Nease’s father.

Mitchell expressed that if Nease was alive and well, she would have never missed the holidays without contacting her family.

The boyfriend, who remains unnamed, informed Mitchell that Nease had left her belongings at his residence.

“He said she didn’t have anything on except shorts, flip-flops, and a shirt, and that’s just not like her to leave all her stuff there,” Mitchell added.

The cause of Nease’s death has not been disclosed. It remains uncertain whether investigators suspect foul play or have identified any suspects.
