OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The body recovered from Nest Lake in central Minnesota on Tuesday has been positively identified as Shane White, a 39-year-old kayaker from Overland Park, Kansas.
White had embarked on a solo kayaking trip on Nest Lake late Saturday evening, but failed to return as expected. A search operation was launched, and White’s kayak was found on Sunday afternoon.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office divers discovered the body of a man on the southwest side of Nest Lake on Tuesday morning.
Multiple agencies and over 40 volunteers participated in the search efforts to locate White.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding White’s disappearance and death is currently ongoing.
