KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Terry Blair, a 62-year-old man serving a life sentence in connection to a string of murders in the Kansas City area, was found dead in his jail cell early Saturday, May 11.

Blair’s lifeless body was discovered around 1:20 a.m. in his cell at the Potosi Correctional Center. He was subsequently pronounced deceased at the nearby Washington County Hospital in Potosi, Missouri.

Having a lengthy criminal history, Blair’s first known murder was that of Angela Monroe in 1982. After serving 21 years of a 25-year sentence, Blair was released on probation.

However, Blair’s criminal activities did not cease, as he was later convicted in connection to the murders of six other women. These women, aged between 25 and 28, were tragically killed in a three-month period between July and September 2004 in Jackson County, Missouri.

The victims were identified as Sheliah McKinzie, 38; Anna Ewing, 42; Patricia Wilson Butler, 45; Darci I. Williams, 25; Carmen Hunt, 40; and Claudette Juniel, 31.

Although Blair faced charges in relation to the murders of two additional women, those charges were eventually dropped.
