The heartbreaking conclusion to the weeks-long search for a cherished dog has left the owner devastated. Yoshi, a 15-year-old German Shepherd-Husky mix, was tragically found dead in the median on Jackson Avenue at Macon Road.
The owner, Lynn, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support during the search, stating, “All your efforts and support were not in vain, we just couldn’t get to her in time. The story about her has touched so many people.”
Car Theft and Suspect Arrest
The incident began on May 2 when a car was stolen from the Fresh Market on Union Avenue. The victim returned to find broken glass and her car missing from the west side of the parking lot.
Subsequently, Memphis police arrested 35-year-old Freddie Najil, who is suspected of robbing a bank in the West Memphis area on May 3. Najil was apprehended after crashing on Riverside Drive in Downtown Memphis.
Authorities confirmed that the stolen Infiniti driven by Najil was the same vehicle taken from Fresh Market, with Yoshi inside, during the theft. The connection between the car theft and the bank robbery led to Najil’s arrest.
