Authorities have confirmed that the 16-year-old who tragically lost his life in a shooting incident at a house party in Northborough over the weekend has been identified as Ygor Correia.
Correia was one of the individuals struck by gunfire during the chaotic events that unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning along Howard Street. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester. Another 17-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to the buttocks and received medical treatment at Marlborough Hospital.
Prior to the shooting, Northborough police had received reports of an individual displaying a firearm at the party. However, the situation escalated quickly, and shots were fired before law enforcement could intervene.
Following the incident, three men were taken into custody during a routine traffic stop. Arnoldo Nogueira Filho, aged 19 and hailing from Marlborough, Pedro Desouza-Passos, aged 27 from Rockland, and Wallisom Texeira Da Silva, aged 20 from Hyde Park, were all charged with possession of illegal weapons. They were arraigned on Monday at Westborough District Court, although none have been directly linked to Correia’s untimely death at this time.
