The tragic incident took place under the water tank near the Wazirabad Police Station on Monday night. The victim, identified as Sandeep Gangaram Metkar (35), was brutally attacked with iron rods by his friends Sunil Metkar, Dinesh Metkar, and Laxman Metkar during a drinking session.
According to the police, the four friends were consuming alcohol when a heated argument broke out among them due to a longstanding dispute. Sunil, Dinesh, and Laxman then turned violent and started assaulting Sandeep with the iron rods. The victim sustained severe injuries and succumbed to them at the scene. The accused fled from the spot, leaving Sandeep in a pool of blood. The nearby residents alerted the Wazirabad police, who immediately launched a search operation and apprehended the culprits.
The Wazirabad police registered a case in connection with the incident, and PI Aditya Lonikar oversaw the swift arrest of the three accused. The motive behind the brutal attack is still under investigation, and the police are working to gather more evidence in the case.
