A man has been taken into custody after allegedly attempting to kidnap a girl during a middle school track meet in Utah, according to officials.
The incident occurred on May 10 at Emery High School in Castle Dale, where 37-year-old Quintin Howard Drollinger was reported to have grabbed the girl by the waist and covered her mouth, court records obtained by FOX 13 revealed.
The girl was targeted while she was near the school’s bathrooms, as reported by KSL-TV. Fortunately, witnesses noticed the disturbing act, prompting the man to release the girl before fleeing to the end of the bleachers where he was located by deputies.
Following the arrest, Drollinger was booked into Emery County Jail on a kidnapping charge and is currently being held without bail. The Emery County Sheriff’s Office shared details of the incident in a Facebook post.
