Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A young boy named Ayko, who was involved in a pool accident on May 3, has been discharged from the hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries. The incident took place in Evansville, Indiana, and Ayko was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention.

According to reports from the Kansas City Star, Ayko’s mother performed CPR on him before he was taken to a local hospital. He was later transferred to Louisville to consult with several neurologists regarding his condition.

Vanderburgh County Sheriff Noah Robinson stated that Ayko’s injuries were severe and life-threatening, as reported by NBC affiliate WFIE.

A GoFundMe page was set up to support Ayko’s family during this challenging time. The fundraiser, organized by Colleen Watters, provided updates on Ayko’s condition. Watters mentioned that Ayko’s vital signs were improving, but he remained sedated while being closely monitored by medical professionals.

On May 5, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office shared an update from Ayko’s parents, Alex and China, stating that Ayko was showing positive progress and demonstrating remarkable resilience. The family expressed gratitude for the support and prayers they had received.

The GoFundMe campaign aimed to cover Ayko’s medical expenses, with any surplus funds intended to establish a foundation in Ayko’s name to assist families in similar situations.

Fortunately, Ayko’s condition improved significantly, and he was able to return home on May 10, as confirmed by Watters in a subsequent update on the GoFundMe page.

Alex and China expressed their appreciation to the first responders and medical staff who played a vital role in Ayko’s recovery. They also pledged to use any remaining funds from the GoFundMe to create a foundation dedicated to promoting pool safety, CPR training, and swimming lessons.

Watters concluded the update with a message of gratitude, stating, “God is so GOOD! Welcome home Ayko!”

It was also revealed that Ayko has two siblings, adding to the family’s joy of having Ayko back home after a harrowing ordeal.
