On Sunday, Jose Oscar Santiago-Dimas, a 45-year-old resident of Burlington, surrendered to the Burlington police. He was wanted on two counts of first-degree arson and one count of burning personal property. Santiago-Dimas was denied bond.

The arrest of Santiago-Dimas is related to two fires that occurred in Burlington earlier this month. The Burlington Police Department, along with the Burlington Fire Department, responded to two mobile home fires on Maple Avenue around 12:30 p.m. on May 3. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and firefighters were able to extinguish the fires.

Following the suspicious nature of the fires, detectives from the BPD launched an investigation which led to the identification of Santiago-Dimas as the suspect.
