A tragic incident unfolded in Glenview on Sunday night, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old boy and leaving two others critically injured following a two-vehicle collision, according to local authorities.
The collision took place just after 11 p.m. in the 1200 block of East Lake Avenue, near Meadow Lane, as confirmed by officials.
Marko Niketic, a resident of Glenview and the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
One passenger from each vehicle was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, while the driver of the second vehicle sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening and was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash, with the Glenview Police Department leading the probe and receiving support from the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force’s Major Crash Assistance Team.
