On a fateful day in Nagpur, tragedy struck as a labourer lost his life in a devastating truck accident near the Chinchbhavan area on Wardha Road. The victim, identified as Anil Laxmikant Ninawe, aged 34, was a resident of Naka No 2, Kamptee Road, Khairi village. Ninawe, who worked as a labourer with a mini-truck transporting bricks, met with a fatal accident on a Saturday afternoon around 12.20 pm.
According to reports, the unfortunate incident occurred when Ninawe was seated on the bricks within the truck. The driver of the vehicle, Amit Vijay Rangari, aged 32 and a resident of Bharatwada, Wadi, lost control over the truck, causing it to overturn. The impact of the accident led to Ninawe sustaining severe injuries from the bricks and the truck’s collapse. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Ninawe tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Following the incident, the Beltarodi Police took prompt action by apprehending the truck driver, Amit Vijay Rangari. Rangari has been charged under Sections 279 and 304 (A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for rash driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Another Fatal Accident Rocks Gittikhadan Area
In a separate incident, a 55-year-old woman named Kamrun Zarif Sheikh, a resident of Police Line Takli, lost her life in a hit-and-run mishap in the Gittikhadan area. The tragic incident occurred when Sheikh was crossing the road near Shyam Lawn in Gittikhadan and was struck by a two-wheeler. Sustaining critical injuries, she was rushed to Medical College Hospital for treatment but unfortunately passed away during the medical intervention.
The driver of the two-wheeler fled the scene after the accident, prompting Gittikhadan police to launch an investigation and register a case under the relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Motor Vehicles Act (MVA).
