A tragic incident occurred in Riverside County, resulting in the death of a 27-year-old man. The fatal crash took place in the early hours of May 11 at the intersection of Monroe Street and Airport Boulevard in La Quinta.
According to authorities, the victim, identified as David Seth Gonzales from Cathedral City, was driving a Kia sedan southbound on Monroe Street when he failed to stop at the stop sign at Airport Boulevard. As a result, he lost control of the vehicle, hitting the curb and then colliding with two trees before coming to a stop. The car ended up overturned on the sidewalk, and despite efforts from emergency crews, Gonzales could not be extracted from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is conducting a preliminary investigation into the crash to determine the factors that led to the tragic incident. It is currently unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
