The Yankton County Sheriff’s Office in South Dakota is urging the local community to remain vigilant following the escape of an inmate from the Human Services Center.

Authorities were made aware of the escape through a Facebook post, identifying the escaped inmate as 35-year-old Wade Scott Heth from Wagner. Heth was on work release when the incident occurred.

Described as approximately 5’10” and 180 pounds, Heth was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and gray sweatpants. He may have altered his appearance since the booking photo, with a beard and longer hair. Notably, Heth has distinctive tattoos – a money sign on his inside left forearm, a wolf head on his inside right forearm, and a buffalo skull on his chest.

If you encounter Wade Scott Heth, authorities advise against making direct contact and instead promptly notifying law enforcement.

Heth was in custody for charges including impersonation with intent to deceive law enforcement, possession of a firearm by a former violent offender, a parole hold, and warrants from Charles Mix County.
