Hyderabad: A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Puttoniguda, as an 18-year-old boy, identified as M. Nithin, was found dead in a quarry after going missing on Monday. The young boy had gone to play cricket with his friends on Saturday, and later ventured into a pond within the quarry premises, where the tragic accident occurred.
Nithin, who unfortunately did not know how to swim, found himself in deep waters and ultimately drowned. His friends, upon realizing his absence, immediately informed his parents and local authorities. A search and rescue operation was launched, but it was not until Sunday morning that Nithin’s lifeless body was recovered from the depths of the quarry.
The daunting task of retrieving the body was made even more challenging due to the quarry’s considerable depth. Nithin’s father, M. Raju, expressed profound shock and disbelief upon learning of his son’s tragic fate. Raju revealed that he had no knowledge of Nithin’s plan to visit the pond, as his son had only mentioned going to play cricket.
Investigation and Post-Mortem Process
Shadnagar sub-inspector K. Lingam confirmed that a case has been registered in connection with the incident. Nithin’s body has been transferred to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
