In a tragic incident in Makarfi local government area of Kaduna State, a six-year-old girl named Aisha Saidu was brutally murdered by a suspected kidnapper. The perpetrator, identified as Abdulazeez Idris, confessed to the heinous crime, stating that he killed the innocent child because she recognized him.

According to reports, Abdulazeez Idris slashed Aisha’s neck with a razor blade before disposing of her lifeless body in a well. The horrific incident has shocked the community and left Aisha’s family devastated.

The Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, provided details of the case in a statement released on Sunday. Mr. Saidu Dahiru, Aisha’s father, reported her missing on February 12, 2024, after she failed to return home from Islamiyya school.

Mr. Dahiru informed the police that Aisha was allegedly abducted by her cousin brother, Abdulazeez Idris, who also resided in Angwan Juma’a, Zaria. Following her disappearance, Mr. Dahiru received a ransom demand of ₦8,000,000 for Aisha’s safe return from an unknown caller, later identified as the perpetrator.

The case was swiftly transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Kaduna, where the police traced and apprehended Abdulazeez Idris in Makarfi Local Government.

Commissioner of Police CP Audu Ali Dabigi has assured the public that the investigation into Aisha Saidu’s murder will be thorough and justice will be served for her and her grieving family. The suspect, Abdulazeez Idris, will face charges in court once the investigation is complete.
